This project was on behalf of the London-based non-professional theatre company Centre Stage London, for their 2024 production of Disney's The Little Mermaid with costume design by Santiago Liendo and Annie Houseago.
This costume was drafted and constructed with dance in mind, for a movement-heavy role that also involved puppetry. Both the asymmetric jacket and the jodhpur-inspired trousers were cut from stretch jersey provided by the company and were closed with snaps and zippers. A fascinator hat was also made, from buckram and covered in matching jersey.
I provided additional support to the wardrobe department with running alterations, fittings, pattern-drafting and armour making. I also assisted in making fabric set dressings for the scenery of the production.
This costumed was performed in from 9th-13th of April 2024 by Josephine Bannerman.
